BACK TO THE BOX OFFICE: Curzon Canterbury RIverside
With five spacious screens inspired by Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, a cocktail bar and a pizzeria, Curzon Canterbury Riverside is a holistic cinema experience that you just can’t get at home.
With a total of 401 seats across its five screens, the Curzon Canterbury Riverside is the epitome of what a modern cinema can be. It has the capacity to satisfy bigger numbers, without stretching any one of its theatres into a soulless hall, while its multiple screens allows for a diverse array of films on any one day.
Opened in 2022, the riverside cinema is equipped with Dolby Atmos screens - each named after a character from The Canterbury Tales - while its striking exterior, art-deco-inspired decor and deep-orange colour palette, make it a luxurious place to spend an evening.
As well as watching one of the latest blockbusters, or indulging in a more indie picture, guests can also indulge in quality food and drink - sipping on a cocktail, wine or craft beer or tucking into some Italian goodness from a menu of stone-baked sourdough pizzas and small plates.
And while the cinema itself is a draw, the Canterbury Riverside is helping by offering Free Parking for users, while there are numerous other offers helping to drive up attendance - and we don’t just mean the Happy Hour.
Started last year, the Curzon will bring back its hugely popular outdoor screen once again this summer. There’s nothing better than being outside on balmy summer nights so Curzon are going to put on classic movies and sporting events alfresco.
Guests can choose from cosy deckchair or comfortable beanbag seating, to take in a movie night under the stars. Returning in May 2025, the film programme caters to all tastes, spanning multiple decades, genres and styles. Whether you’re in the mood for suspense, romance or comedy, they’ve got something for everyone - all while enjoying the food and drink in your seat.
