A DELICIOUS SUMMER SEASON AT BROGDALE
From picking and tasting your own fruit to the amazing Cider Festival
From picking and tasting your own fruit to some amazing events, Brogdale (@brogdale_collections) has a summer calendar full of events and days out.
PYO Fruit Weekends are a unique opportunity to pick your own unusual variety cherries, plums, gages, apples and pears from the Brogdale Collections orchards, near Faversham. PYO runs every weekend during fruit season from 21st June – 26th October (except event days). Visitors will be able to harvest their own fruit to take home. Join a guide for a tour of the National Collection and learn all about the fruit and the different varieties.
The return of the Brogdale Cider Festival on August 23rd-24th, includes an exciting new layout in the festival field! Enjoy local ciders, live music and family fun. Free shuttle bus to and from Faversham station. There's loads of FREE activities for kids, too, including tractor-trailer rides, apple juicing, craft tent and festival games.
On 9th-10th August Brogdale hosts its first Plum Fair. PYO plums from the National Fruit Collection and enjoy tastings, free kids’ orchard crafts and tractor trailer rides. You can also try some outdoor cooking on an open fire with the wild classroom.
On 4th-5th October the Apple Fair offers a chance to find out all about apples and pears. It will include PYO, tastings, tours, apple displays, free kids’ orchard crafts and tractor trailer rides. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to learn about the 2,000 apple and 500 pear varieties in the National Fruit Collection. Children are FREE to this event.
